In 1992 he obtained his West Virginia Real Estate Broker's License, and formed Mountain Home Real Estate. One of the exciting developments emerging from the construction and Real estate industries is the re-awakening use of solar, wind, and other forms of renewable energy. In October of 2005, Larry helped the owners of Mountain View Builders (see Partners links) move the University of Massachusetts (Dartmouth) Solar Decathlon house and electric car to its new location near Berkeley Springs, WV. He is presently producing the design and working drawings for its reconstruction. As a member of the American Solar Energy Society (ASES), he attended the Solar 2006 Renewable Energy Conference held in Denver, Colorado last July. As a result, he now has two projects on the table that make use of innovative technologies he learned about at the convention.

JIM SLOUGH, Cell 304-582-2653
Licensed in West Virginia

Jim and his family moved to the Berkeley Springs area in 1998 to work for US Silica (formerly Pennsylvania Glass Sand Co). His major focus there was on extensive contract negotiations for purchasing energy such as natural gas, heavy oils, diesel, recycled oil and propane. The energy purchasing phase also involved in-depth actions to oppose utility rate increases before State Public Service Commissions with close coordination with legal firms to support that effort. He believes his experiences there gave him a good background for contract negotiations in Real Estate.
Since 2000 Jim has assisted his wife and family in the development of Berkeley Springs Cottage Rentals, which vacation rents approximately 90 properties in Morgan and Berkeley Counties in West Virginia. That business now employs 5 people on a full time basis, plus dozens of local contractors. He also specializes in the residential and commercial Property Management and Leasing end of the real estate business for Mountain Home Real Estate. In addition to his Rental and Property Management expertise, Jim also brings to the table personal experience buying and selling real estate while living in 4 states before he moved to Berkeley Springs. In 2006, Jim received his WV Real Estate License. In his first year he sold and leased well over a million dollars worth of real estate transactions.
